4th of July 2024 Parade theme is:
Highlands OHANA!
The Highlands Community is Family! Ohana is Hawaiian for family, including neighbors that are like family. The tradition of the 4th of July celebrations in the Highlands brings us all together each year. Highlands Community Association will organize the 68th Annual 4th of July celebrations. Unfortunately, there will NOT be the Annual HCA Fireworks show this year, due to ongoing construction at the school.
4th of July Schedule
8:30am - 4K Fun Run
10am - 4th of July Parade
11am- Midway BBQ & Carnival games for the kids
12:30pm- Pie baking contest judging
2pm Swim races & Cardboard boat races
T-shirts this year will be available for purchase before the 4th and at the Midway. Last year's t-shirts sold out, so get your t-shirt early. Call for t-shirt pick up- 650-773-7805. $20, sizes child S- adult 3X
Details for all events can be found in the June issue of the Highlands Lowdown newsletter. We purposely mail the details, to every home in the Highlands, rather than post them to the public website, to maintain space at the events for our HCA members.
The annual Highlands Community Association 4th of July celebration that the Highlands is famous for, is fast approaching. And to make it happen we need help to come from all around the Highlands, and if you can't volunteer this year, consider a donation.

The Highlands 4th of July is a special celebration in our neighborhood and helps define what makes the Highlands a unique place to live. The events began as a way to keep our Highlands neighbors safely at home and off the roads during the holiday. Please find a way to make helping out the community a part of your family's 4th of July tradition. Go to the links above and pick a job and a time that works for you. PLEASE NOTE: These events are for residents of the San Mateo Highlands, paid for by dues and donations to the Highlands Community Association and our wonderful local business sponsors. As a Highlands resident, you may bring a guest, but kindly do not place an open invitation on social media. We are at capacity for our events and want to maintain space for Highlands residents to attend. All residents will be mailed a Highlands Lowdown Newsletter in June with a list of events and times. We purposely do not list those on the website. Former residents are always welcomed guests!
For the safety of all, drones are not allowed to be flown at any HCA event.
